95 State Street Thermal Control

Archer Mechanical Inc had the opportunity to install the thermal control system for the mass concrete pour at the 95 State Project in downtown Salt Lake.

The mass concrete placement required the contractor to monitor the concrete temperature during the curing timeframe. The thermal control system Archer installed maintained the differential between the core temperature of the concrete and the surface temperature at a 35-degree delta; using 60 internal cooling piping zones, which pumped 480 gallons of chilled water from one end of the pour to the other.

The 95 State building will be Salt Lake’s third tallest building at 395 feet. The new tower will house retail shops, restaurants, and a meetinghouse for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and Class A Offices.
